Highly Sensitive and Stretchable Strain Sensor Based on Ag@CNTs
Due to the rapid development and superb performance of electronic skin, we propose a highly sensitive and stretchable temperature and strain sensor. Silver nanoparticles coated carbon nanowires (Ag@CNT) nanomaterials with different Ag concentrations were synthesized. After the morphology and components of the nanomaterials were demonstrated, the sensors composed of Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) a...
متن کاملHighly Stretchable, Strain Sensing Hydrogel Optical Fibers.
A core-clad fiber made of elastic, tough hydrogels is highly stretchable while guiding light. Fluorescent dyes are easily doped into the hydrogel fiber by diffusion. When stretched, the transmission spectrum of the fiber is altered, enabling the strain to be measured and also its location.
متن کاملStretchable, Highly Durable Ternary Nanocomposite Strain Sensor for Structural Health Monitoring of Flexible Aircraft
Harmonious developments of electrical and mechanical performances are crucial for stretchable sensors in structural health monitoring (SHM) of flexible aircraft such as aerostats and morphing aircrafts. In this study, we prepared a highly durable ternary conductive nanocomposite made of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS), carbon black (CB) and multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) to fabricate stretc...
متن کاملStretchable and highly sensitive graphene-on-polymer strain sensors
The use of nanomaterials for strain sensors has attracted attention due to their unique electromechanical properties. However, nanomaterials have yet to overcome many technological obstacles and thus are not yet the preferred material for strain sensors. In this work, we investigated graphene woven fabrics (GWFs) for strain sensing. Different than graphene films, GWFs undergo significant change...
متن کاملEmbedded 3D printing of strain sensors within highly stretchable elastomers.
A new method, embedded-3D printing (e-3DP), is reported for fabricating strain sensors within highly conformal and extensible elastomeric matrices. e-3DP allows soft sensors to be created in nearly arbitrary planar and 3D motifs in a highly programmable and seamless manner. Several embodiments are demonstrated and sensor performance is characterized.
